It was Rae’s second time going to preschool on our around the world trip. We couldn’t be happier with Little Giants Kindergarten Danang. If you are an expat family looking for an international child care or preschool (age 2-6) in Danang, Little Giants is your NO. 1 choice.
Since a lot of preschools don’t have English websites, it took us a while to go through our options for short term child care in Danang. Rian found Little Giants through google search, but we were not sure if they take temporary kids.
We decided to drop by and take a look. We didn’t have an appointment but the school owners(also teachers) Emma and Joe were very kind to let us in and give us a tour. Joe and Emma are from U.K. They fell in love with Danang and decided to stay and open a school. Little Giants was originally a play group but they are working very hard to get the school license from the Vietnamese government and develop it to an official school. You can see their passion on what they are doing right away.
We immediately felt that it was the right place for Rae. There were about 20 children between probably age 2-5 when we visited. There are 3 classrooms in the house. Emma and Joe each was in charge of one class and there were a couple of Vietnamese teachers upstairs with younger children.
The outside was nice with a big pool and some garden areas. They were building a playground and should be done by now.
Emma and Joe were flexible with our child care needs. They accepted Rae to attend preschool 3 days a week (8am to 3:30pm) for 3 weeks. We were very excited to get in.
Things were going smooth like we predicted. Rae loved there and had a lot of fun. She used to play with a lot of kids since I was doing a daycare in Canada. When we started travelling, we were concerned if it was too much change for her. Sending her to preschool during the trip is the best we can do to create some social opportunities for her with other kids.
It was December when we attended Little Gaints. Of course there were a series of Christmas activities. Rae brought home a bunch of Christmas crafts. She seemed working hard:). They hosted an amazing Christmas party before the winter break. Rae was very excited to tell us that there was a real Santa and she told him what she wanted for Christmas! I checked their Facebook page. There he was!
